He goes way back and knew right away how to raise a party. He gave us powerful hardcore tracks. Partyraiser won the MOH Top 100 in 2015 with ‘Sound Becomes One’ and in 2017 with ‘Ode To The Godfather’. Who doesn’t know those tracks right? Partyraiser shared his accomplishment with us, check it out below!
Hi, I will begin with something that’s way more special to me. Winning the MOH top 100 in 2015 with ‘Sound Becomes One’. This was the most beautiful and emotional event in my career! This beautiful track is so special to me; it was produced a few years after losing my dad.
And to see a whole scene in tears after playing this song, people getting tattoos with the title and lyrics and receiving thousands of messages about the track. Seeing people play it at funerals, but also at happy events – and then winning the number one spot in the MOH Top 100 voting with it is beyond epic and the crown of my career. Destructive Tendencies and I are still so honoured by this!
I always try to find the right vibe on the dancefloor and as a DJ, it’s important to sell your product in playing that song the right way.
You tell a story, and of course hope for a hit sample, which is what happened with “Ode To The Godfather”. And that happened without any idea around it.
My idea was only to make a song for Paul Elstak, an artist and friend who I respect very much. Playing at his event as a b2b gave me the idea to create and write down a small story in tracks and samples by Paul in building a mash-up/new Uptempo song. I searched for the right feeling and when I had this plan I called Repix (who’s a seriously good mash-up producer) to help me create and combine it all together in the right way. And “Ode To The Godfather” became a huge hit after playing it – that was an amazing surprise!
I think I answered that question already: it’s luck and timing. You don’t create a hit, it overcomes you. Many times I thought, wow this can be a hit and it didn’t work out, but sometimes it suddenly happens.
I will vote! And I will always vote for my own Partyraiser Recordings artists because I think they deserve those spots.
There was good and bad music. Unfortunately we didn’t have a whole lot of parties to test the music at. I think there was a lot of junk… Nowadays too many people think they can produce a song (with completely stolen samples/kicks or lack of creativity) and I don’t dig that.
But luckily there are also many good old and new producers who are still keeping our scene alive.
Totally sucks! The world we live in right now, it’s no fun at all anymore!!
Yes, to stay healthy with the people and animals I love and of course to play on all the stages worldwide again!!!!
Stay safe,
Raiser
