Take a look back at the Masters of Hardcore Top 100 along with our relentless star and former 2019 winner Angerfist. He brought us outrageous tracks and it showed in the results of the Top 100. He kicked it up a notch and we were curious how this experience felt for Angerfist. Check the interview below!
It felt great. I think any artist will agree that it’s good to get some recognition for what you do. It doesn’t need to be in the shape of a chart or a list but it definitely doesn’t hurt either haha. Both recent wins were for tracks created in the studio with colleagues that I respect and it’s cool to enjoy sharing a number one spot like that. The 2020 win was particularly strange because gigs were cancelled for the majority of that year, so people didn’t have the chance to hear the track at shows & festivals. To win based on people listening to the music at home as opposed to at the parties was kinda unique and something different.
I guess they resonated with the fans at the time, plus they were solid collaborations that we had lots of fun making. There was a good vibe in the studio and it hit the right places.
I don’t know the exact formula for a winning track, and I like to believe that nobody does. Even though you are really feeling something in the studio, and you are convinced that this will be something huge, the response of the fans could be something completely different.
Not sure yet but off the top of my head, a few tracks that I like are: Unfused – Avoid Failure, Miss K8 – From the Depths, GridKiller – Danger Zone, Furyan – A Journey Through Memory and a number of other cool tunes that came out this year.
2021 has been a year of starts & stops, especially here in the Netherlands. I was hoping for events to be fully up & running again, but it looks like we’ll need to wait until 2022 until the world fully opens up. It’s been good to travel to countries like Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, and the UK. Those gigs, among others, are keeping the scene going in times like this.
Worldwide Domination
