Mad Dog presents the second ‘Downtempo’ EP

Bass and distortion penetrating your soul… Hard kicks reverberating through every cell. Hardcore synths flooding your psyche with nostalgia. Intoxicating slow rave beats that tremble with radical creativity. These are the foundations of Mad Dog’s brand-new ‘DOWNTEMPO II’ EP.

Taking these quieter times to reflect and rediscover his artistic flow in the studio, long-standing Italian Hardcore artist Mad Dog has fully embraced boundless freedom, which resulted in the birth of his first ‘DOWNTEMPO EP’. The concept was initiated to strip back the layers and revive the essence of Early Hardcore. As Hardcore music began pushing higher BPMs, Mad Dog decided to go against the grain and turn down the tempo, demonstrating that slower Hardcore packs just as much power.

The spin-off from the first ‘DOWNTEMPO’ EP was overwhelming and inspired Mad Dog to jump back into the studio and finish off a second instalment to the EP series.

From now, the ‘DOWNTEMPO II’ EP is available via Dogfight Records. Released together with a livestream filmed at Amsterdam’s iconic NDSM venue, Mad Dog showcases an immense live-act which contains gear from his personal studio; including vintage equipment that characterise this music like TR-909, Alpha Juno1 and JP-8080.

The EP itself contains four brand-new slow Hardcore bangers that will take you out of your everyday grind and mentally transport you to a deep dark underground rave. With surgical precision, Mad Dog has captured the spirit of hardcore in “Energy 1996”, “The Realness” with Promo, “You Still Don’t Belong” and “Time”. All four tracks are unique in their own nature and when listened to in chronological order, are a dramatic multisensory journey.

Mad Dog – Downtempo II EP is out now on Dogfight Records and available via all streaming services and Beatport.
